After their stellar 2009, Blur have confirmed a feature-length documentary film telling the story of Blur is due for cinema release on January 19th next year. No Distance Left to Run was filmed throughout the band’s 2009 rehearsals and acclaimed summer tour and finds all four members of the four-piece together for the first time in nine years. With previously unseen archive material alongside new interviews and reportage, the film recounts the highs and lows of a very British band from the late 80s to their headline return at Glastonbury and Hyde Park. The result is a musing on Englishness and identity as well as being a portrait of friendship and resolution apparently. With the odd bit of Alex James going on about cheese too no doubt. Hot Chip – New Single, Album & Tour
Our favourite wonky popsters are back with new album and single One Life Stand, both set for release in February next year. We loved 2008’s Made In The Dark and One Life Stand picks up where the band left off, being another wide-screen pop production. You can listen to the new single by heading over to Hot Chip’s MySpace and cranking up the volume. The band are also set to gallop around the UK playing their songs in confined spaces next February, beginning in Glasgow on the 12th and ending up in Brixton Academy on Feb 27th.
