Gary Barlow, once of Take That fame and now the X Factor’s Alpha Male, has announced he’s doing his first UK solo shows for over 11 years at the ‘In Support of Young People’ Concert in aid of The Prince’s Trust and The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. The gigs will take place at The Royal Albert Hall on December 5th & 6th and this is surely laying the groundwork for his next project – his solo career. So will Gary finally reach his destiny of becoming the next Elton John? Well, he’s already well on his way to National Treasure status…
These shows come hot on the heels of Gary receiving a Q Award for his services to songwriting, which have seen more highs than lows over the past two decades, so long as you discount So Help Me Girl and Forever Love. We can’t see Gary plucking them from his backpack on the night, but rather we reckon he’ll be performing a slew of Take That hits, along with some solo gems and perhaps some new material.
Says Gary: “It’s really important to me that disadvantaged young people get the support they need, especially at the moment. The Prince’s Trust along with The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry are both doing great work with young people and I liked the idea of recognising the work of the whole family. I hope the money raised through these concerts will make a real difference to young lives.” Arise, Sir Gary.
Tickets for Gary’s solo shows – Gary Barlow In Concert to give them their formal name – go on sale on October 28th at 9am and are priced at £40, £45, £55, £65, £95. Call these numbers to secure yours:
