The Lesbian Book Club with G Benson

Welcome to episode 23 of the Lesbian Book Club! This month, I interviewed Australian writer G Benson who was all sorts of lovely. Gabby had her breakthrough book last year with All The Little Moments, an emotional juggernaut of a book and my fave lesfic of 2015; she followed that up this year with the very readable Flinging It, which deals with a woman having an affair with her boss’s wife. Gabby chats about living in Spain, how she made the jump from fan-fiction to full-blown author, and the importance of diversity in lesfic.

As well as that, I also do my usual run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as talking about my latest release, book 5 in the All I Want series – All I Want For Autumn – due out on Sept 21st!

I’ll also be selling books at Triskele Litfest, Lift, 45 White Lion Street, London, N1 9PW on Sept 17th, 1-6pm. Come along if you’re free for a fabulous afternoon of books and readings!

The Lesbian Bookclub is part of The Lesbian Lounge podcast, available on iTunes and Stitcher.

  1. Just felt inspired to write to you. I like your no nonsense writing, not ‘tarted up’ to be sensational. Just straight talking, from the hip.

My writing is a bit more visceral, and I am hoping to get it completed within the next month or two, together with the two accompanying film scripts of the original tale. Two different versions of it, in script language. Hoping it will bring me Big Things.

Know I have quite a bit of talent, it’s just going to be how to market/promote it, not knowing who my target group is and being a complete technophobe. Two hurdles I have somehow got to get over… If I am to succeed. Tall order…

Well, thanks for reading this, and I shall continue reading ‘London’s Callling’ and no doubt other of your books. I shall listen to your podcasts to see who else yiu recommend, so that I can note them, check their sites, and maybe learn from them…

  2. Thanks for writing, Linda – always lovely to hear from readers. Good luck with your writing – I hope it goes well. The main thing is to write it, get it to the best state you can, then put it out there. Taking the leap is the hard part, but I wish you all the success! Clare. x
