LFest 2015: Indie Author Panel

This year’s LFest at Uttoxeter Racecourse had it all – sunshine, women, books & song. Really, what more is there in life? By day, I soaked up some rays, got cultured in the Arts Tent and ate some of the largest ice creams ever imagined. By night I whooped to the likes of Stooshe & Lucy Spraggan, drank lager out of plastic cups and wore a cowboy hat with some style. Nearly. Continue reading » “LFest 2015: Indie Author Panel”

Summer Readings!

LFest-blog

I’m now well into my summer stride – the light and fluffy duvet’s on, the BBQ has been used at least once and I’ve even sat in my garden to have breakfast. It’s like I live in LA or summat. You know what else summer’s about? Drinking beer in fields and getting all dreamy at festivals, that’s what! Over the next two weeks, I’ll be appearing at a couple of venues, so if you’re in the UK and coming along to either LFest or Brighton Pride, do stop by and say hi! Thumbs Up For This London Love!

It’s just over two weeks since I launched my third book, and I couldn’t be happier with the response so far. People seem to be connecting with the book and the characters which is great – I was sad to say goodbye to them, but I’m happy that readers now get to say hello again! A lot of people have asked me if writing and launching books gets easier with every one you do, and to that I’d say a resounding no. Writing a book is hard, editing a book is hard, and launching a book takes courage – because every time you put a book out there, you offer up a little piece of yourself to the world and you’re never quite sure if the world’s going to like it… Continue reading » “Thumbs Up For This London Love!”

Book Editing: Not For Wimps

book-editing

As I type this, I’ve just completed the third edit of my new book – and yes, it now has a title – This London Love. It’s not strictly a sequel to my debut London Calling because it doesn’t focus on Jess (although she features!). This time around, the spotlight falls on Kate and the people in her life, and it was a lot of fun picking up the setting, some of the characters and running with them again. For this blog, I’m inviting you into the editing process. Step this way… Continue reading » “Book Editing: Not For Wimps”
