The Lesbian Book Club With Annette Mori

Welcome to episode 37 of the Lesbian Book Club as I interview US-based author Annette Mori whose novel Locked Inside won a Goldie award in 2016 for Contemporary Romance – the biggest prize in lesfic! But that’s just one of a number of books Annette’s written, her latest being The Thanksgiving Baby Caper. Annette chats about not following a set writing formula, writing across genres and her excitement about her new book, Unconventional Lovers.

In case you weren’t aware, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! I love everything about Christmas: the tinsel, the lights, the music, the movies, the food – and especially the drinks. Mulled wine and a river of chocolate – what’s not to love?! But weirdly, much as I love Christmas, I didn’t get into Christmas books until around three years ago when I read my first Christmas romance and I was hooked. The Lesbian Book Club With Wendy Hudson

Welcome to episode 36 of the Lesbian Book Club as I interview fellow UK author Wendy Hudson who’s just released her second crime-thriller Mine To Keep – and it’s brilliant, so you should go and buy it!

Her debut novel Four Steps won a Goldie award for Best Debut Novel in 2016 and she talks about setting her books in Scotland, how to create a character that readers love and how she sets up suspense in her books & keeps it going. Wendy also reveals how she fits in writing around her day job, the mantras that spur her on and her favourite crime writers in lesfic. She’s a fabulous interview with a lilting Scottish accent, to take a listen!

How Do I Write?

I get asked this question a fair bit, so I thought I’d let you know.

I don’t have a nailed on writing time – I wish I did. I wish I was one of those writers who sat down every day and bashed out a set number of words. What tends to happen is that I write in spurts, doing 60,000 words in a month, then the next month reworking. This is what I did for my upcoming lesbian romance, Twice In A Lifetime. I wrote the majority of the words in August, then I reworked and edited in September, and I hope to launch in October. Phew!

Emma’s debut novel Finding You was released in July, and her follow up Remember Me just two weeks later. Both books shot to the top of the charts all around the globe at breathtaking speed and Emma talks about her runaway success and how she managed it, along with the transition from writing non-fiction to making her mark in the fiction-writing world. That, and we also discuss the frankly bonkers amount of booze her characters drink!

Twice In A Lifetime: Cover Reveal!

Twice-500Thrilled to let you know that my new lesbian romance, Twice In A Lifetime, is due out in October – and here’s the gorgeous cover! I really love this, it’s bold, in-your-face, and I fell in love with it instantly. I hope you do too!

My new lesbian romance is a second-chance love story set in Chicago (and New York), the first time I’ve set a book outside my beloved UK. I was inspired to do this after a fab trip to the Windy City in June, and by my many trips to the Big Apple over the years.

In the book, you get to meet Harriet Locke, a go-getting entrepreneur, and Sally McCall, a greetings card designer. They were each other’s first loves when they were teeangers, but then they drifted apart. When they meet 17 years later, will they still like each other? Can they trust each other? Will true love really strike twice in a lifetime?

Twice In A Lifetime is due out late October!
