Ah, 2023, I’ve been expecting you!
Another year dawns, and I’m almost ready. Usually at this moment, I trot out the amount of books, translations and audiobooks I want to get out into the world this year. I’ve done it for years, so it’s normal. But this year is different. Because yes, while I do want to do all of that, my health is more important. If that fails, everything fails. Last year, my health suffered, physical and mental. This year, I’m putting it first. If that means I get no books out, that’s okay. It’s not my intention, but that’s okay. At the start of the year, I set out ten goals. But back then, we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us, did we? With everything that’s happened since, I was trepidacious about finding out how I’d done. But you know what? 1 – Write a schedule.
I’ve done this already! First goal ticked off! Now I just need to remember to look at it and take action. Simple, right? I managed to do it last year, but it tailed off after August. The reason? I needed a break. More balance is needed this year so I don’t conk out part-way through 2020. Work consistently, maintain my physical health, and get help where it’s needed. I also plan to reassess my schedule every quarter, as well as writing down wins and where I could improve. I’ll bring myself a strong coffee to sweeten the deal.
