Jae’s Sapphic Reading Challenge: Start Here!

Are you doing Jae’s Sapphic Reading Challenge 2021? If not, maybe you should consider it! There are prizes on offer, as well as the chance to read more widely and be introduced to a ton of new books and authors. Plus, if you join her Facebook group, you could even chat about the books you’ve read with other like-minded readers, too. It’s a triple win!

How does it work? In Jae’s own words: “The goal is to read sapphic books that fit as many of the 50 categories listed as possible. You can read ebooks, paperbacks, or audiobooks; and they can be new-to-you books or re-reads. I’ll post book recommendations for a new category once a week. Of course, you could also just read whatever books you want and then, afterwards, see what categories they fit into. Depending on how many sapphic books you manage to read in 2021, you can earn different badges and book prizes.”

Basically, read books that fit certain tropes, and there are prizes to be had! Plus, you get to call yourself a Book Penguin, a Book Dragon or even a Book Unicorn.

Jae has 50 categories to tick off in her challenge, so I thought I’d list my books and what category they fit in. I’ve got 18 novels, and there are 50 categories. I might miss some matches, but I’m going to do the absolute best I can, and hopefully it might help you to fill your challenge card and puff your reading muscles. Ready? Here goes…

All I Want Series Rebranded!

It’s the first day of June, nearly halfway through the year, so it seems apt that I’ve finally done something I’ve been planning for the past 18 months – I’ve rebranded my All I Want series! I’m thrilled with the new look, and I hope you love it, too. Inside, the books are smart, young, funny & sexy, and I wanted a look that reflected that. I think my cover designer has done a fabulous job with this one… Continue reading » “All I Want Series Rebranded!”

The Lesbian Book Club With Ann Aptaker

In episode 28 of the Lesbian Book Club, I have the pleasure of interviewing award-winning US crime noir author Ann Aptaker.

Ann lives in New York and after years working as an art curator has turned her hand to writing, with spectacular results. She’s just released Genuine Gold – book three in her series about art smuggler Cantor Gold – and it’s already garnering rave reviews. This follows up Ann’s first two books in the series, Criminal Gold and Tarnished Gold, and I’d recommend all three.

Ann talks about her writing and how she puts the focus on emotion in her work, as well as highlighting her love of New York and its history. Give it a listen – Ann is a brilliantly engaging guest, with a cool New York accent to boot!

I also do a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as talking about the final instalment of my All I Want series, All I Want Forever, out now! Get in touch and let me know who you’d like on the podcast! mail@clarelydon.co.uk

Writing the All I Want Series

Typewriter-Me

I began writing the story of Tori and Holly in July 2015. While everyone else was slapping on the factor 15 and jetting off to hotter climes, I was embarking on a Christmas book. However, writing a Christmas story in summer posed no difficulty at all, because like my main character Tori, I love Christmas – so bringing it forward a few months was a plus. When I used to work in an office, I’d always get told off for playing Christmas music way too early. Now, I have a job where playing Christmas tunes in July is perfectly acceptable. Win!

all-i-want-forever-300x480

After a couple of month percolating inside my brain, I’m pleased to announce that the last chapter of my lesbian romance series, All I Want Forever, is here! It’s the final instalment in the Tori & Holly saga, and while I’m a little sad to say goodbye, I hope you’ll be pleased with the results. As usual, there’s disaster & desire in equal measure, along with huge dollops of humour and heart to keep the story moving at a clip. But the question is, will Tori & Holly get their happy ever after? You’ll have to read the book to find out! Here’s the blurb… Continue reading » “All I Want Forever On Sale!”

The Lesbian Book Club With AL Brooks

Episode 27 is upon us – hurrah! And this month, I’m interviewing the wonderful author AL Brooks, who I think is going to be a stalwart in the lesbian fiction charts for many years to come!

Angela burst onto the lesfic scene last year with her debut novel The Club, which centred around a lesbian sex club in Manchester and the women who frequented it. It was the erotic hit of 2016, and now she’s got the writing bug, Angela is not stopping, with a new book out in February and another in the works. Listen to her chat writing, productivity and being a first-time author here!

As usual, I also do a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as talking about the final instalment in my All I Want series,  All I Want Forever, due out on January 27th – I’m so excited and also a tiny bit sad to say goodbye. Get in touch and let me know who you’d like as a guest on the podcast! mail@clarelydon.co.uk
