The Lesbian Book Club with Lise MacTague

Welcome to episode 45 of the Lesbian Book Club where I have the pleasure of interviewing US author Lise MacTague. Lise writes sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural and steampunk, and her latest book is Demon In The Machine, following up on her others including Five Moons Rising and the On Deception’s Edge series. Lise discusses coming up with her immersive worlds, how she loves writing action and why she’d love to be the love child of Nicola Griffith and Meghan O’Brien – quite a pairing!

As usual, I also run down the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK, as well as talking about what I’ve been up to, including putting the finishing touches to London, Actually, book five in the London Romance series – out in October! I also chat about the success of the first ever Ellcon in Bristol in August. Let’s hope for many more to come!

London, Actually, book five in the London Romance series, is due out in October.

New Covers For The London Romance Series!

If you’ve been paying attention, you might have noticed that my London Romance series has a brand-new set of covers – I hope you love them! I decided to give the series a cohesive look so they’re easily identifiable as being linked (despite being standalone books), and I’m really pleased with how they’ve turned out.

The stories inside haven’t changed, with each book focusing on a different couple in this London group of friends. But I thought it was time they got a facelift, and you can expect two more books in this lesbian romance series this year, both with linked covers. So if you haven’t read London Calling, This London Love or A Girl Called London yet, now’s the time to do so before the next books in the series hit the shelves!

Book four, The London Of Us will be out this summer.

Writing A Girl Called London

When I first started thinking about writing the third book in the London Romance series, I wasn’t sure which character to focus on – should I choose one from a previous book, or should I make up a fresh one? But then Tanya kept knocking at my plot door, and she was quite persistent. I wondered if she’d been too much as Meg’s stroppy ex in This London Love, but by the end of that book, she’d redeemed herself. The die was cast: Tanya was going to be the linking character.
