The Lesbian Book Club With Haley Cass

Welcome to episode 65 of the Lesbian Book Club where I interview US author Haley Cass. Haley’s debut novel Those Who Wait took the lesbian fiction world by storm this year, along with its follow-up Forever And A Day. Her new book, When You Least Expect It is currently thrilling lesbian romance readers around the world, too.

She talks about how her debut started life as a Game Of Thrones fanfic, and how blown away she still is by the reaction from readers. She also talks about how her favourite part of writing is the angst – when characters truly have to face their fears: “Break-ups and their aftermath are the first things that go in my outline. I’m always ready to write those.”

As usual I do a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK. My new book, Christmas In Mistletoe, is riding high in the charts alongside Haley’s, which is perfect timing!

Enjoy the podcast, and I’ll be back with a festive special before Christmas!

The Lesbian Book Club Summer Special!

Welcome to episode 62 of the Lesbian Book Club where I interview eight lesbian fiction authors and asks them how their 2020 is going in this Half-Year Summer Round-Up show. What a year it’s been so far, right? Nobody could have written this.

The eight authors are: Eliza Lentzski, Clare Ashton, Cheyenne Blue, Giselle Fox, Jae, Wendy Hudson, KJ & Lise Gold. I quiz them on what they’ve learned, what they’ve written, the plans for the rest of the year, where they’d love to be and their future hopes. Expect high-brow answers, lofty goals and humour peppered throughout.

I also do a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK. Plus, I outline how I’ve changed my publishing goals for the year, shifting her next London Romance book to January 2020 after completing my own Half-Year Goals Round-up and reflecting on it. I hope you enjoy this special girl-gang episode, I loved asking so many authors how their year is going!

2020: Half-Year Goal Check-In

At the start of the year, I set out ten goals. But back then, we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us, did we? With everything that’s happened since, I was trepidacious about finding out how I’d done. But you know what? I’ve not only done well, I’ve smashed many of my goals for the first six months of the year! I couldn’t be happier. Here’s my round-up of January to June… Continue reading » “2020: Half-Year Goal Check-In”

The Lesbian Book Club with KD Williamson

Welcome to episode 61 of the Lesbian Book Club where I interview US author KD Williamson. KD is famed for her cops n docs series starting with Blurred Lines, and her latest romance Big Girl Pill has been lighting up the lesfic charts of late. Her books are cops and docs, wrapped in romance, wrapped in humour. Plus, they’re snarky and the characters are real. We chat writing secondary characters, diversity in lesbian fiction and KD’s very funny writing style. She says: “I don’t write books just about two main characters falling in love. I don’t write sanitised fiction. If you want books that are light, cute, nice and nobody swears, that’s great. But I’m not that writer.”

I also do a run-down of the Amazon Lesbian Fiction charts in the US & UK. Enjoy the podcast, particularly KD’s gorgeous accent!
