Thumbs Up For This London Love!

It’s just over two weeks since I launched my third book, and I couldn’t be happier with the response so far. People seem to be connecting with the book and the characters which is great – I was sad to say goodbye to them, but I’m happy that readers now get to say hello again! A lot of people have asked me if writing and launching books gets easier with every one you do, and to that I’d say a resounding no. Writing a book is hard, editing a book is hard, and launching a book takes courage – because every time you put a book out there, you offer up a little piece of yourself to the world and you’re never quite sure if the world’s going to like it… Continue reading » “Thumbs Up For This London Love!”

Book Editing: Not For Wimps

book-editing

As I type this, I’ve just completed the third edit of my new book – and yes, it now has a title – This London Love. It’s not strictly a sequel to my debut London Calling because it doesn’t focus on Jess (although she features!). This time around, the spotlight falls on Kate and the people in her life, and it was a lot of fun picking up the setting, some of the characters and running with them again. For this blog, I’m inviting you into the editing process. Step this way… Continue reading » “Book Editing: Not For Wimps”

Indie Author Fair 2015

IAF15-me-cropped

A recent survey of the British public put being an author as the number one profession in the land – and over the past year, I’ve transformed into exactly that, putting out two books, with a third on the way. But being an author can be a lonely profession, which involves long stints sat alone at your keyboard making things up. So when I got the chance to take part in the Independent Author Fair at Foyles this month, I was cock-a-hoop! A chance to meet readers and other authors? Count me in… Continue reading » “Indie Author Fair 2015”
